Legacy GT wagon sluggish winding up

Guest

Recommended Posts

Sometimes when i decide to take off fast in my 96 GT wagon it is a bit sluggish around 2000-3000 rpm. Mainly notice it in 2nd gear and its nt like that all the time. Could it be dodgy distributor points or spark plugs or something?

could be VOD aswell( the change over point is remarkablely noticible), or it could be due to turbo lag(time it takes to build pressure)

+1 thought it was a bit higher.... but in mine it was like time stopped haha

VOD = Valley Of Death = A tuned in 'valley' between the change over from primary to secondary turbo, usually about 3500 RPM,can be made better with aftermarket controllers....

One of the reasons why single turbo conversions are so popular...

aint converting to single turbo lol il upgrade both of them when i have loads of cash to spend on it. For now im just trying to get it to run the best i can.

Should i invest a half decent boost controller to increase performance?

EBC really only two options for the twin Apexi AVC-r and /or Greddy pofec Spec II

both allow rpm specific boost controll

ie lower on primary and higher on secondary / dual stage boost control

Personally I would not bother too much - they are pretty much gimmicks with cool gauge readouts

I'm running a apexi and still not even sure if its tuned proper..

Definately gna look into a decent boost control system tho

eventually gonna upgrade both turbos but then have to upgrade intake and exhaust so il wait til i have a bit of money 1st

I'm also wondering why such a big NO to single turbo conversion. Also upgrading your twin turbos wont give you much if any of a change, you would be better off with a set of down pipes. You have ti be careful winding up the boost on the twin turbo.

The zerosports controller can be ok be personally i didn't rate mine when i had it.

An exhaust really helps with the twinturbos.

Ive dragged skylines with big single turbos and ate them so i quite like having 2 turbos and the big NO was jst me being funny

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
