Beware-multiple burglaries in the Halswell area of Christchurch

Just thought id chuck this out there for anyone living on the West of Christchurch.

There have been about 20 burglaries in the suburb of Halswell.

Parents live there but have 2 big dogs so arent terribly worried.

you get close enough and they will raise a rukus.

Just what a filthy burglar doesnt want. Most dogs arent guard dogs by any means unless they a)are genetically distrustful and guardy and b) have been trained for it.

Small yappy watch dogs are worse in burglars minds lol

Same with Cashmere, my olds live there and someone tried to burgle their house when they were on holiday a couple weeks back. Fortunately they had a hell of a fright when my mate who was house sitting came down to the living room with when he heard noise and saw a crow bar jammed into the door. They obviously saw my old man packing up the car for a holiday, and hit it that night. Didn't realise we had a house sitter.

Im pretty sure that if your dog bites anyone found to be trespassing on your property and with the intention to burgle you, it would not get put down.

Id spirit it away before id let that happen.

WRXER: I hope your mate answered the door with a baseball bat? I have an old school wooden baseball bat under the bed. Ill be defending my house with it should anyone come to call.

Haha he was the worse person to answer the door, he only has one eye and is on disability haha. But he is quite a naturally built guy, can't run either but was enough for the idiots to do the bolt. Tbh I think it scared the s*** out of him more then them haha as he just heard a few noises thought it sounded a lil suss but didn't think he would actually see a couple guys trying to break in. I wonder if it was the same pair as last time, they were idiots tried breaking in twice and failed. Eventually got in, and stole the cheap nasty smirnoff vodka yet left the expensive beers haha which were worth twice as much as the vodka....Dumb asses

yea i live opposite the New World an our neighbours got robber during broad daylight! its not overly a quiet area either

Oh and no way the courts would have your dog put down when it chewed a crims @rsehole to pieces...
