front mount on gdb

does anyone have pics of how their front mount sits without bumper

jonny5 is helping me fit mine and we just not too sure how much to cut lol

i mean we do have an idea (jonny does anyway) but some other pics of how others have done it wud be nice

this kit is the one that the throttle body feed pipe goes thru where the intake airbox is and the turbo then feeds to the frntmount by gowing down beside the starter motor area..

as for the cutting go you cut off all the round bar on the top... and what ever its hitting on the sides

does it make any difference in chasis flex?

Is taking off the front support legal and is it legal to cut like you have X? I know it's the only way but are their any legal ramifications from this? Also pappus new FMiC the turbo pipe drops down on the passenger side and runs along the rocker cover and juts out next to the exhaust manifold down the bottom like the HDI intercooler.

is only illegal when u get caught... it can be if its inspected properly but... it is illegal to have a front on a car that has airbag system in it unless the factory comes with it... not much chance you will pass your warrant at VTNZ testing station... so make sure your local garage is ok with it you first... something like a dozen of beer or sexual favor may help?

I didn't unbolt anything. The only thing we did was cut a brace between the two sides that was welded, couldn't unbolt that. Apart from that it was plug n play. We did cut two small notches out of the bumper support panel that in the end didnt need to be cut, but that wouldn't affect anything.

It did help a lot that the kit was designed for GDB, lucky

Or to do a A++ job.. get your piping fabricated by a professional. No need for angle grinding or stressing

hmm there must be a difference between the ra and sti frontage - i will post a pic of mine

has more btacong metal in the front.. as compared to the above pic..

we instaslled a Greddy kit for 1CE and its like 1000 time then any fabricator ( was also by a fabricater/tool maker also...). we still need to cut off the bar to fit... but a full custom ones will cost the same as a Greddy kit but will take longer
