Fully concur. My car got taken for a wander with a Mongoose M60G...poorly installed, brain mounted by the steering column (WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS), but being ye olde innocent female at the time, I didn't know better. PAINFUL way to learn.

Not giving anything away, they're gonna need bloody 2 hours to themselves now. (Last time I said this, someone tried to 'stalk' me here on CS and found every damn Amy in the country EXCEPT me ;D)

A good alarm installed badly is a waste of time and actually makes it easier to steal your car. And DAMN have I seen some badly installed alarms... Evo 8 with the brain taped to the steering column and the 'black loom' still had the tags on it...

How many of you know where your alarm brain is?

Do you know if your bonnet sensor works?

Do you know what will actually trigger your alarm?

The best alarm in the world isn't going to do sh!t if they can get to the siren without the alarm going off. Because unless you have one extremely badass alarm install, if they've got 2 hours to themselves to casually bypass it they'll probably manage.

The saying "if they want it they'll take it" only applies to towtrucks and them beating you up and taking the keys. A really well installed alarm should effectively prevent the vehicle being started, full stop.

totally agreed..

i install alarms and audio for a living (used to be in chch) and no matter wat sort of alarm it is if its installed crap then its easy as. and to tell u the truth any one with a little knowledge in auto electrician knows that even with a triple immobiliser. it aint hard to get past it seconds as long as u know what your doing.

another tip is when buying an alarm for insurance purposes. the insurance company (mine anyway) doesnt matter if its a 4 or a 5 star as long as its "imobilised" thats all they are after. some installers charge alot more for a 5* over a 4 so beware.

personally i would recommend AVS 5* alarm. slightly more expensive than others but there are a lot of upgrades you can put onto them. including gps and auto shut down oof car.

sorry for hi jacking this thread just wanted to put my 2 cents in lol cheers

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
