i assumed that the res had to be mounted above the water feed for the turbo, thats why its mounted so high from factory to stop air locks.

thats why i went for a non water cooled turbo so i could rip that sucker out all together ;D

it will still be above the water feed but the hose will dip a little bit before it gets to the res, i was hoping this wouldnt kill the turbo.

itll smoke eventually

Garrett recommend max tilt 5-7 degrees and yours is way past that angle, the return ramp in the core is 10 degress im sure you get the idea

Dam it, i guess ill have to set the twisted setup again a bit later down the road.........do i need to run a restrictor with this turbo or does it come with a built in one??

So yours sits tilted as well?? Does it smoke?? How long have you had it setup like that??

yea slightly , not quite as much tho and i run a holset hx40 not garrett so not sure if there's any difference between bb and jb. ive done about 5000ks on my fresh engine now and goes sweet other then a few un-turbo related issues :D

My mate has been running a 0.6mm restrictor on his gt35r wrx, just wondering if thats too small?? Ill advice him to take it off if it is too small. Also in the pic below is the tilt too much as well that could possible make it smoke??

the best way I've seen large turbos mounted on a scoob was east by west in place of the top mont and the air filter right under the scoop. The down pipe still goes down the same side and the turbo stays flat, intake is short and gets cold air.

yea i can do but after comparing it to your pic its probably identical to yours . quite a bit of a lean

The turbo is actually not fully mounted yet, its actually sitting more tilted then it should........after we make brackets for it it will have a little less tilt ;D

still not ideal but bit of a better pic (its somewhere around 15 deg i suppose)

atleast these turbos are cheep to rebuild.

and looks gay imo. unless the turbos HUGE

/quote]well isn't that what were talking about LARGE turbos! If you've got heaps of time and money yeah lean them back, wait for the seals to go, then rebuild them sweet as. Personally I'd rather go for the do it once 8)do it right path!

personally you can do what you like :)

i dont believe the way i have done it is wrong

would also rather not add more bends and pipe into a already extremely long exhaust.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
