Factory Headers vs Stainless and Aftermarket

Oh and the flanges that go agaiast the heads that came on these headers when i bought them.. are still flat as a die.

Only the parts i changed along the way going twisted has moved

From my readings I don't think that makes a difference in power out put..

Depends what sort of stainless they are made from. Lots of slip joints and HPC coating seems to help.

This is true also, the quality of stainless will depend on the the length of time before they crack... Mine have done 50000ks so lasted a while before falling to bits so they did pretty well!

Pic below of current headers, 4-2-1's, will be interesting if there are any gains going to a 4-1 set up from these if I decide to for the tomei set.. Apart from the obvious big leaks in the current ones

Even the brands like tomei, HKS, zerosports dont use the right S/S for the temps that the headers get up to

slightly off topic but how do you find the hyperflow stage one sump as I have one of these too and they are not supposed to be for track racing but as its going on a track car thought I would ask?

not very informative .. i also have one, and run 1.18'00's at manfeild on semi or slicks and haven't had any issues with pressure or it leaking.

I think Gregs had a pin prick in it somewhere but as far as using a 'baffled' sump for race use i've found it to be fine thus far.

cool didn't realise you had one too. Thats good news may not have to put extra baffles in then, saves a little i suppose.

sinco makes a good set of headers for subarus and i prity sure youl get a 10year warrenty with them.
