JDM Nav in New Zealand

Hi all. I got a 2004 JDM B4 Legacy about a year ago. It has a Nav system built in. It was showing this:

Not much help. There was a "Subaru Navigation System" in the glovebox. But noting in it:

So I obtained an original japanese navigation disk which got the system to boot. But it showed I was sitting in the middle of the ocean.

Next I obtained New Zealand (toyota/lexus) maps. By booting off the Japanese disk and then ejecting it and putting in the NZ one I get this:

Sweet. But not a total solution. It shows where I am. and I can scroll around but....

I can't get directions or search.

The menu is still Japanese.

And the clock is out.

Has anyone in New Zealand managed to get this working fully without replacing the nav system? (I'm too poor to do that)

Its been covered plenty of times on here with a recent thread which ill find or joker will probably post up before i get to it.

Theres no qucik fix...well there is, but expensive

Yeah I've seen a few threads. Mainly saying the nav will never work. But as you can see from the last picture. It can. I have also seen on a few russian sites people claiming they have got the JDM nav converted to russian. But they refuse to say how.

How did you get the Toyota/Lexus maps?

Would be very keen for a set, might be bale to make my Altezza Satnav work then.

I\'ve searched the whole forum, and couple of others not finding any solution.

I think I\'ll replace the unit for a carpc one and stop bothering; at the moment the screen is just sitting there anyhow...

there is an option but as stated its not cheap, gives you a touch screen though
