td04 to td05 upgrade

nope the older turbosmart maybe but the newer ones are very good

have tested both back to back and gfb has more spike - even on their websire the boost curve shows a spike

in any case this is irrelevent if the OP wants to use the stock setup

whats the rego ill run it for you see what it comes up with. a pic of the engine would show which version quick as. is the coil pack in the centre of mani or offset on passengers side?

as above get the comp number too.

for $50 you could buy the front corner of the header with an external wastegate port they pop up on trademe from time to time. that way you just change the wastegate spring. why didnt they offer you an ebc as another option? where did you go? that 2800 will be link im guessing.

i asked them that but i asked for specific boost i dont wanna toss around with the boost all the time so ebc is overkill. as for the ecu it is link indeed i went to a place in pukekohe. i wouldnt mind a new ecu as they do sound like they give you bang for your buck

ebc just gives better boost response from mine and others experience not so much the tutu factor.

ecu is mint as gives headroom for bigger better mods down the track. it all comes back to how much you want to spend and what you want to achieve now and in the future.

I'm really confused here, what's the problem??

The correct boost for a V5 WRX wagon is 10psi. Only in the V7 onwards did the TD04 varients have a higher boost stock.

It's the STi's with the bigger turbo stock that made 14.5~15psi boost stock.

Don't forget a TD05 making 10psi is flowing a lot more than a TD04 at 10psi.

greatest (sarcasim) thing happend to me today i walked out of work to go home started the car and my boost gauge didnt move at all popped the bonnet and noticed that the boost line was broken (least of my worries) i also noticed that the water line to the turbo was torn and all the water had drained out problem is i had been driving for a good two hours solid and have no idea when this line tore. the water once replaced is not oily and the oil has no water in it. is it possible that i have severly damaged the engine.

PS to the bost above as i said before i changed the turbo boost was 11 to 13 psi

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
