Blown bulbs on heater control unit

Hi there, on my BG wagon the heater unit lights aren't working any more - just the ones behind the buttons. I know there's a how to on pulling the unit out on here somewhere but I need to know where I can buy new bulbs (short of pulling apart 5 second hand units to find good bulbs)

BNT and Jaycar sell bulbs, you can even buy led ones

they are a very small bulb. from memory even subaru cant get them, i ended up going to sub spares and raiding a unit to get them.

sorry I assumed they were the same as any dash bulb

I don't know if they're the same as the bulbs in a WRX heater dash, but kwikaus sorted me out. Give him a PM, I'm sure he will be more than happy to help.

send me a pic or post one up. i have many many dash bulbs. it may pull out of the base and be a common as bulb...you need to pull that sucker out. Probably $1...

I pulled it apart. The cap the led sits on says it's a T 14v 1.4w

The led bulbs legs loops around the cap and that's how it makes a connection.

I can get you new bulbs for $2.00 a bulb plus shipping which wouldn't be a lot, you will need to take the bulb off the holder, the bulbs I have are a little shorter but still fit and work, you will need to pull the coloured bulb condom of and put on new bulbs as well, I can get the bulbs though AES Electracs in Hastings here, if you want pm and will oraganise some for you.

Already checked. They aren't the bulbs. Not wedge. That and I'm not so keen on getting the globe assortment lot lol

Check out your local auto electrical shops, the packet I got has the number 8-B100 Bulb mini capless 14v, check them out, you cant get a bulb with the holder, you will have to reuse the holders that you have.

thats a civic wholesale part number they sell to every tom dick and harry just walk in and say do you deal with civic and if so give them the part number. i keep them on the shelf but to much hassle.

You dont have to buy the whole narva assortment you buy them individually...often toyota/denso lights i just pull the dead bulb out and put the new bulb in and wrap the wires round the old base. But theyre only available gen or wrecker.

There's an nz website that sell even the caps for the heater control bulbs. 5bucks and 5bucks shipping.

I'm starting to get desperate fumbling for the mode and fan speed at night lol
