imo thats a complete croc of shit. It looks at the problem and trys to fix it with a band aid ignoring the actual underlying problem.

No other normal cars, nor subarus suffer the same problem.

I'm agree that every brand has trouble's, and its normal. I think the head gasket problem in the Subaru's is common just because most of the models use the same engine and you can read then people with Forester, Outback, Legacy, Impreza with the same problem. I'm not afraid of that to be honest, because also I've heard the same problem in Legacy's with 2.0 liter.

Getting my "new" car with warranty I understand that this eventual problems will be covered, no? I didn't ask to the dealer so I'll now.

The reason why I posted the link on head gasket problems explained, is that its the best explanation I've seen for the problems l've had in 2 out of the 5 subarus that I've owned/own.

they were both in series 3 leones 86 / 88 not listed/noted for HG problems but one had 85% clogged radiator /blocked heating core i and cracked head/HG in other.

I presently own a 2001 BH Outback with ej 251 @ 207k noted for HG external leaks and no problems yet touch wood :-\ l haven't got a good feeling about this car and considering an H6 as previously suggested.

Surely anything offering prevention/taking preventative measures is better than doing nothing / waiting for problems to happen.

IMO the EJ engine has inhereted the weaknesses of the EA82 1.8 engine.

Despite all this l still like subarus too much and will stick with them actually l'm pining for my old 86 leone wagon man. hi lo, for its simplicity , any good examples out there? silly question people hang onto the good ones :-\ Subarus have been part of my life for the past 20 years

This is what make a Subaru, be a Subaru lol... but its true I wouldn't change my opinion about this brand just because those specific problems. I'm pretty sure also to take the Lancaster... so as soon I get it I'll upload pictures and show it to all of you and wish to have in the short time a meeting in this area!

Nice 1 be good to meet seeing we are just 40 minutes away. Bring it up for a drive here sometime. Subarus just love eating up Glenorchy Road

I spoke with the dealer and he will change the oil and filter (some paper works say to re new it at 104.500kms and now has 103.700) so I'm thinking go to pick up the car next day off if I have time.

I'm more than happy to meet up here or in Glenorchy. Should be nice to make some pics with the cars around there...so beautiful Glenorchy. And if you know any area where we can do some off road (nothing too complicate now lol) much better!
