removing air con

Need to get system de-gassed first.

Don't just let the gas go, it's illegal and you can get refridgerant burns

Once degassed just unbolt and remove all the components :)

Because your system had no gas in it, which means you are very lucky

The average system has around 600grams of refrigerant under pressure ( will take 5-10min to relaease via lossening a fitting)

hmmmm haha yeah weve just unscrewed before well actually mates dad did needless say we left the garage very quickly and didnt come back for some time..

I cracked mine but had no gas at all in it...

Easy enough to remove once degassed though man.

Unbolt hte pump, unbolt air con radiator (in front of radiator) and yeah thats about it

Evaporator is the unit inside the car

Condensor is the radiator looking part that sits infront of your engine coolant radiator

and if u really keen u can take the evaporator out from in the car, I did this in my old '84 RX probably scrapped 25 KGs of alloy

Remember Darren did take that off his RX. Being that its a older system so probley is heaver. I think also they have some beefy steel brackets holding air con pump on?

I think my old Vortexs air con pump was heaver than my Svxs one.

Lol. That is why I used really long pliers on the metal lines.

yea should be able to get 50c for all that.dont say you have to pull the whole dash out to get to the evaporator?

/quote]

not the dash. glove box probably. you may not want to bother though, because if

I remember correctly, there's only one fan for the whole heater/aircon system,

and it's part of the unit with the evaporator in it. you'd be able to put it back together

without the evap, but the whole process of getting the unit out and putting back in

will be quite a bit of work for little gain.

Correct, i found this out once i had pulled it all out, and then had to put it all back in for the heater... i wasn't amused lol

it's not that hard, there's a little metal bracket covering a nut/bolt right in the top left hand corner of the unit, I just unbolted the bracket for better access. Now i've finally got those annoying leaves out of my heater as well

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
