Power on but no sound

Trying to install a pioneer head unit on GF8 / Version 2 WRX

The head unit turns on fine but theres no sound.... I have now checked the wiring twice, seems to be ok.

Is there a factory amp I need to wire through?

Any suggestions on where to look for the problem?

Trying to listen to the radio with the aerial not plugged in?

Have you used a wiring loom adaptor on the car wiring side or have all the plugs been cut off?

There are no factory amps in Imprezas

I would think the head unit is faulty or your wiring is wrong.

Radio aerial is plugged in.

There was no wiring loom adaptor on the car side. I think the previous owner has cut it if there is supposed to be one.

You can use a aa battery to check the speakers

Well if there\'s no plug, then I\'m guessing you are probably using wrong wiring on the car side, for the speakers.

Also check all the fuses, particularly the interior one in the engine bay. It\'s probably not an issue since you say it powers up okay, but it pays to check just in case
