need help with incident with truck

Hey guys,

i need a bit of advice here, i was driving down johns road heading north (christchurch) and the was a truck and trailer heading south down johns roads. For people that know the road i was going around the bend when the truck came past and a few stones flew off the trailer and hit my car, i didnt manage to get the rego of the truck but managed to get the company name. i\'ve been trying to get a mutual agreement between me and the company and the insurance being a nice guy rather than going to the police, however the company manager is kind of denying this and i dont want to claim insurance as its a $1500 excess and i havent done anything wrong....any ideas or advice?

Go to the cops and call insurance. The longer you leave it the worse it will be. Youve given them a chance to play nice guy dont get used here.

Insurance is your best bet

Cops are not going to be really interested unless you have rego and they committed some traffic offence such as unsecured load spreading everywhere etc etc

The longer you leave the worse it gets...

Stones on trailer falling off, or stones under truck getting flicked up?

Good luck proving if it was the former I guess, short of a dash-cam or random witness who will back you up there\'s 0 evidence of anything other than a name of a random trucking company who may or may not have driven down johns rd that day

im 99% sure it came off the trailer, because i where the stones hit, it left a wet dirt mark, it was a 25 degree day so i dont think it was from the road because it was dry, i know its going to be my word against there and i\'ve sent them the pics and fingers crossed it will be in my favour but not hoping too much.

Only thing I can say is good luck with getting any money out of the company, You have no real proof, Cops most likely wont be to interested for the same reason ( but file a complaint anyway so it is documented against the company as there may be an on going investigation if there is a few complaints),file a claim with your insurance company, what was damaged ??

The damage is in the A pillar, bonnet and driver front guard

is this stones like gravel ? or rocks like dug out of the ground with dirt etc ?
