That looks pretty redneck

better off losing an inch of wheel and not having to rangi up the lines of the car, dunno bout you but i dont carry a tape measure for wheel width past "heaps".... anyway you dont need my opinion haha

theres some rear camber kits on ebay aus for not too much, was having a look last night. that white b4 in chch on tm with the white&blue wheels has some photos on his auction youd get a kick out of too, one way to save on tyres seems to be only ride on 25% tread at any time :S

Hadn\'t seen it on trademe but have seen the photos. I don\'t want to run that much camber. I\'ve kind of accepted that this will look a little rough. Should be fine though. I only bought the wheels because they were cheap. Probably will move to something more conservative, or a car that can fit the wheels properly

My understanding is you can\'t get a cert for camber anymore. But you can cert camber arms. So if I go in for a re-cert with camber arms to neutralise the camber then its certed for that mod. Then after that you can adjust your camber because unlike your height restrictions on the cert plate there\'s nothing about a camber tolerance. Its certified for the camber arms? As for the adjustables I am already certed for those but I would recert the height if I were to install camber arms as my cert height is not as low as I would like it to be.

The whole not being able to cert camber is stupid though. At my current height I have -2degrees in the rear which wouldn\'t be certifiable if they were strict on it, but you can get the same height on lowering springs. My friend\'s B4 is at the same height almost and he is just on springs. I can go a lot lower though I have a fair bit of room to adjust

They had to start somewhere so I thought they were trialling it with cert lads first. I imagine if an officer deems it unsafe coz hes unsure you would need to get it aligned properly then get vtnz warrant to clear pinky then adjust again...

Some may not agree but I think it looks good on the grids too. Just not with the blue. On his Facebook there are pictures with much more conservative camber and it looks quite good to me. But then he goes and puts stickers on fenders and all the other bits

That car looks like s***. Maybe I\'m just old but I think all this "stance" and running giant wheels with stretched tyres looks ridiculous.

/quote]

I dont run huge amounts of camber just spaced them out to get car looking more wider / staunch - it handles awsome with wheels spaced out and i know it gets alot more looks. YOUNG AND OLD. :)

can you explain what your understanding of scrub and torque steer is based on the above..?

I would contend its not going to handle \'awsome\' if you dont have correct offset.

The car\'s primary use is driving around town at 50~km so it will handle fine. I have the standards if I want to go to the snow.

I got 2 free tyres the other night from a guy off VASK (vw forum). Initially looked pretty worn but only looked at one tyre. It was all I needed as I\'m seeing if the tyre is the right size but the 2nd one I got has heaps of tread left! pity I won\'t be buying the same brand because they\'re too expensive

Question ? how stiff are your D2\'s?? im looking at getting new shocks now to sure what to swap to?

Reasonably stiff! depends what you\'re after really. If you want stiffer you can set preload higher. I bought them because I got them cheap. If you want to go low I would recommend looking elsewhere as I\'m at the limit in the back. Definitely wouldn\'t say they are bad.

Alternatively I talked to someone running HSDs and if I were to buy more I think I\'d try those.

Im looking at the BC Golds through hyper so i can get the spring rates up\'d and the valves redone to matched! trying to get to the 8/10kg mark make it nice and solid, my teins were at 6kg and they where to soft for me, i would bash guards everytime i hit a hard bump,

Camber arm\'s - there is a guy on here that can make them, i cant remember who it is though, he was alot cheaper than getting in a set of Whiteline arm\'s.

what size tyres are you going to use on the 9.5s??? i got a pair of 225/40\'s if you want them. ones got abit of guard rub and the others pretty new looking matching pair, il let them go for $50 or 2 box\'s of Corona\'s lolz

Cheers for the offer man but have had a few people offer me some $$ for the wheels and have been looking at a few sets off yahoo auctions. If they don\'t go through I might just buy some Rotas because I can get a set that will sit a little further in. Reason for this is when fitting the wheels I can see it working but so much of the wheel sits out from the body that when you look from behind it looks weird. I would rather have a slightly higher offset and then use spacers later on.

I think mine are 10/8kg I\'d like to go stiffer but putting things on hold while I find wheels I really want.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
