caster bushes?

Recommended Posts

hey guys, i\'m doing the v7 sti sedan caster swap on my wagon, i was wondering which would be better to use? the existing bushes? or a set of gc8 caster bushes from an sti type r? (i happen to have a set of them in the garage)

trying to get a decent amount of caster into it, also wondering if i should go for a whiteline anti lift kit? or perhaps the forester caster bushes? trying to do it on the cheap LOL

the forester ones do look like the same amount of castor as whiteline ones, but if your doing it on the cheap just use the v5 ones and flip the bar on your arms for the "free castor mod"

Wut is this free castor mod you speak of? And what is the difference in your spec c subframe as in whats solid mounted about it?

i put it in brackets so it made it easier to search http://www.google.co.nz/#hl=en&safe=vss&q=free+castor+mod&nfpr=1&sa=X&ei=Rm49UY3XG-m1ygHGlIDgBQ&ved=0CCsQvgUoAQ&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&fp=2d569884cc9fa46b&biw=1270&bih=789

all RA\'s and Type R\'s (maybe sti\'s) rear sub frames dont have rubber bushes mounting it to the chassis rails on the 4 main bolts, they have steel bushes making them "hard mounted" (and noisey). As for Spec C sub frame the front one has extra bracing (check my for sale thread pics) the rear one is the same geometry as any v7-10, which is better than a v1-6 as the diff sits higher and the holes for the lateral arms mount higher.

Link takes me to google. I found it anyways. Doesnt work on my non sti arms apparently?

Can you just lose the rubber which would theoretically firm it up but like hell you would notice it in my car. Thats what i was thinking the other day anyways. As far as swapping to v7- rear subframe all you need is an alignment?

I\'m up for a wheel alignment shortly - I\'ll give this a whirl before it, my car shares the same arms etc as those ones. Would just flipping the bar do much or are the spacers *needed* to make it worthwhile? Free is free afterall :D

Lols @ the nasioc thread somehow turning from a really informative discussion to an internet argument, I thought this place was bad but jeeeebus
