B4 Legacy engine swap manual - Auto block

Hi, i have a 2000 manual B4 legacy which has blown a big end bearing, have taken it into get reconditioned but they have told me that the engine has already been done before and too f**ked to repair. i have found a 2nd hand engine BUT its from an auto B4 legacy. Does anyone know if you can chuck that block etc straight into the manual or will it not work/ horse power difference?

it will work, but it wont be as good as your old eng, as im pretty sure your old eng is EJ208 (good heads, bigger injectors etc)

that auto one will have different heads internally, but should be able to use the long block and bolt your ej208\'s intake/exhaust manifolds on, and your away. just remember that engine wont be as good as a Ej208 performance wise, but it should be good just to get you going

swap heads across. replace headgaskets. winning.

it will go just the same as it used to.

remember use your old manual turbos + intake manifold / loom / injectors.

I\'m running a manual block in my auto at the moment due to the same issue.

From what I was told you can go manual into a auto but not the other way around as the compression ratios being different can cause det.

yea the block it has in it now has already been done before and has stuffed conrods etc and the guy reckons that he cant grind it back anymore might have sussed a 2nd hand engine from a guy who ships them from Japan so hopefully wont be a massive cost.

ej206 (auto) and ej208 (manual) are basically same engines, they both have same internals in the heads as well. the only difference is that ej208 comes with an oil cooler and 3 pipe water pump and ej206 doesnt have a oil cooler and comes with 2 pipe water pump. injectors are same as well.
