BL/BP Reliability issues

Are these variant plagued by the head gasket issues the older Legacy\'s had? Looking at buying one.

No they\'re pretty good. in all flavours.

Ive had several turbo vehicles in the past (including a BG gtb wagon), currently driving a Torneo euro r. I miss the extra torque from having a blower bolted on.

Only problems with our turbo one have been a leaking rear main seal and a worn out 02 sensor and lower control arm bushes.

Fixing the leak cost a lot but we also did the cam belt and accessories at the same time.

My 3.0R also wore out its bushes at about 120km. Another 2006 b sport in the family also needs the bushes replaced at about 80km. Not a major though.

My preference would be 2.0GT spec B manual -> 3.0 Rspec B manual -> 3.0R auto -> 2.0GT spec B auto. The turbo auto is just a dull drive although still faster than the 3.0R.

3.0R manual is a great fun car but I found I wanted more power. Turbo manual FTW.

Thanks for the heads up, but hoping to get hold of a manual. Im another couple of weeks away from being in the market anyways.

Actually had our Torneo stolen last week so waiting on insurance. Problem is that out car is still touring around the country doing drive offs at fuel stations etc. so If were unlucky it will be recovered... If were lucky its still a 3 week wait from the date it was stolen before they will pay out.

no worries, if you get to drive a tip tron, chuck it in \'sport mode\' they dont dissapoint:)

Yeah my 3.0r is fun in sports mode or just drive manual mode

While Im here, is anybody able to give me an indication of what it would cost to have a manual box rebuilt? Ive been looking at one that is notchy into 4th.

Its most likely just got the wrong oil in it....they change alot smoother with ATF (automatic transmission) Fluid in them.
