Whats the best clutch for the job?

So im pretty sure ill be getting this 2000 NA legacy, 5sp man, either blown gearbox or clutch, the guy doesnt know which it is -.-, i think its the box from what hes told me

im going to be making it rwd, looking at a wrx rwd box and diff, and what clutch should i be going for?

An sti one?

leave standy one if its still good?

well me and driftrex where saying if the standard one handles 4wd it should take 2wd easyer?

but yea i thought a NA clutch would wear easyer than a sti clutch lol

So went and checked out the car, its the clutch thats poked not the box, save abit of money

so i will prolly go for a wrx or sti clutch?

hey how do you know if its the clutch or box?? just bought another 92 RS from Hamilton and the girl that owned it "thinks" the gearbox is stuffed...fingers crossed its the clutch!!

i dont know mate im guessing, the box can go into gear but when you let the clutch out nothing happens, its still harder to put into gear without engaging the clutch, and when you have the car in gear then turn it off it shudders likes its trying to move right before it dies

and when the clutch is out and its not in gear it sounds like a fucked bearing noise, all points towards worn out clutch plate no?

sounds more like a gearbox issue to me, does the clutch feel normal when you pump it? wouldnt think the clutch plate would be so worn than it wont move at all.

does it? fuck haha, its kinda the same thing that happen when i fucked my paddock car clutch so thought it mite be that?

haha the stuffed bearing noise is wat I have in my RS I have now..my clutch is stuffed tho I know that but not to the point where the car wont move anymore...also Iv noticed my gearbox has become abit slugish or a little harder to put into gear sometimes..mainly 1st to 2nd...could be because of the stuffed clutch??...anyhow atleast I know about the stuffed bearing noise.

yea the box felt normal, but there was no feel in the clutch, like you could feel the clutch spring or whatever pushes it back out but there was no bite,

and i figured that not ever gear in the box wouldnt work? like i put it into all gears and let out the clutch but nothing

yea haha duno what the bearing noise is, i thought it mite be the clutch slipping

Could be a rivet on the clutch plate grinding its' way into the fly wheel? The 'bearing noise' that is.

Plox take it to a mechanic/gearbox tech to check before you buy...

Yea i thought it could but something like this to, but the noise only happens when the clutch is out in neutral??

i dont really spend any extra money on it, if i went that as to get it checked id be buying it lol
