V7 STI engine/gearbox conversion into GC8 Type R - Who has done this?

Got the stubs yesterday so the gearbox is all sorted.

Now just need to sort out the wiring.

Does anyone have the cyl head remove/refit torque specs?

remove the v3 one and put in the v7

or just run over it

easy and works

or print out all the loom diagrams and start from one end and do it wire by wire for the merge

its not hard but just time consuming and needs to be spot on

The engine wiring is pretty much plug and play. I am just concerned about the interior harness which needs to merged to the ecu because i cant really find anything concrete on the net.

There should be very little from the interior loom that needs to go to the ECU.

From a quick skim through the pinouts, you may need:

Check Engine Light

Tacho

Vehicle speed

Aircon On (if you haven\'t deleted the aircon)

Start signal

IC Spray switch, if using

And obviously, power and ground.

But I can\'t see anything else in there that wouldn\'t be on the engine part of the loom.

I have finally got it running now. Had a few issues but its all sorted now.

Just a question, i am only getting 0.5 bar of boost on full throttle. Is this normal?

Is there any tuner in Auckland who does road tunes?

spoon is THE MAN for road tunes, massive attention to detail. 0.5 bar sounds like wastegate pressure, do you have the restrictor pill in the line?

yep fiji..and im going to fiji soon

anyway 0.5 bar...near wastegate pressure... as said above...

basics i wud look at would be:

are all the lines for the turbo hooked up correct?

is there a restrictor pill in the vac line off the turbo?

is the cel on?

what fuel u using?

does it have audible knock sound?

have u used and wired the fuel pump controller thats found on the v7 sti or just wired the relay straight o pump?

no blockages on intake and exhaust side?

any exhaust leaks e.g. up pipe etc

what abt any vac leaks

or for that matter any leaks in the bov/intercooler hoses?

sort of really check all the basics first i wud say....
