blackened headlights on a bc5

hey guys ive been trying to find some blackened headlights for my BC5. this picture pretty much made my decision LOL just wandering where to get them from? if anyone knows that would be awesome.

P.S mine is a prefacelift

were they optional on some or do people just pull them apart and mod them ?

Just chuck it in the oven at low heat to soften the glue, whip lens off, mask and paint em up. They do it in the states with evo 8- lights well with everything really. Im very tempted to do it to my crystals.

I did this to my BC5.

I just put the lights in the oven until the glue goes tacky and take glass off.

Then remove the shiny plastic you want to make black.

Paint.

Reassemble.

Back in oven to soften glue again.

Squeeze together with a clamp.

You can also see that I did my indicators the same and removed the orange plastic piece. Just use a bulb that goes orange.

All lights and indicators only took a couple of hours to do.

You dont paint the reflector just the surround.

By only painting the flat surfaces and leaving the concave section reflective, it didn\'t have any untoward side effects.

Oh wait, yes there was. Remember to use some wax and grease remover after you have removed the masking tape. The adhesive residue made it quite dull and I had to pull them apart again to clean them.

and can i use a heat gun to melt the glue instead of the oven?

Heaps of info on nasoic. Heat gun is faster or about 220 Im guessing fahrenheit was what they reckoned.

would taking them apart etc cause any issues with alignment? Spose it would be easy ebough to fix it with the alignment machine thing?

Alignment movess the reflector which is completely seperate to mounting and lens.
