Has anyone installed a Bee R Powerbuilder into a v3 STI?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I want to install a Bee R because they\'re getting real cheap. I have read on the forum that it is more of a hassle then it\'s worth to install into a Subaru.

I haven\'t done anything like this before so I\'m pretty clueless.

From what I have found is that Subaru have more than ignitor one wire and you need to join them together with diodes attached to the Bee R unit.

Anyone have first hand experience?

Yep borrowed my old one off my mate when I did the drags, have a loom plug sitting under the carpet to plug it in if I ever want to use it again.

Can\'t remember what wires I used now but could check when it\'s lighter. Was dead simple to install

There\'ll be a difference but not much, I found a diagram on the gizzmo website that has a pinout of the v3/4 ecu and just has marked all the important pins for installing accessories that need ecu signals

Found this on a drifting forum.

Managed to get someone to translate. Matching it to a ECU pinout I have I get the following.

For GC8 from left to right it goes

RPM - Yellow/Green

Crank Angle Signal - White

ECU Power - Yellow/Lime

Seems easy to do. Did you hook rev 2 up to a clutch switch or the handbrake?

I set rev 1 to maximum (like 12k or something?) and had a small push button switch attached to the gear knob to earth the \'handbrake\' wire and activate rev 2 for launching only

Did you have to wire in diodes? I have a unit waiting for my time to install! Might do it while im wiring up afx controller.

No diodes, the ecu doesn\'t like them too much though, threw CAS codes and if I held it on for more than a couple seconds the ecu would kill the motor. Worked fantastic for its purpose though

Yeah set it at 7k a few times and boosted it. Was fucking cool, huuuge bangs, fills the street with black smoke from the backfire.

I managed to make clouds as wide as state highway 1 just out of town :P

Lotsa of fun idgaf if they reckon it shortens engine life, completely worth it

I put it in today and it\'s not working properly. It just revs to a bit over 2k and cuts the ignition slowly no matter what I change rev 1, rev 2 or gain too.

I used two 1a 1kv diodes and spliced into ignition 1&2 and ignition 3&4.

With Rev 1/1 and Gain set to 0 it drives normal but when I turn the bee r on. Say put rev 1 to 4k and gain to 1 the car idle changes and it feels like it\'s going to stall.

Heres a vid

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
