tips and tricks when fitting a new clutch please

You sure? I\'ve only seen that done on a triple plated clutch.

I should show you the huge chinks missing out of mine from balancing.

not sure that\'s standard practice dude... balance the flywheel sure... but a new clutch plate and disk should be pretty well balanced.

Il take my advice from two engine builders i know. Every clutch assembly they see is balanced.

yeah, I\'m sure that would give a better result, provided you could align the the disk perfectly... but it\'s not standard practise.

yeah i gave that some thought too. i imagine you wouldn\'t include the friction disk in the balance

was the correct clutch installed? was it torqued to spec? are the flywheel/crank bolts torqued? is there a spigot bearing in the flywheel?

i don\'t know how many more things can go wrong.. ?

new pilot shaft bearing was installed by bnt, they just machined it and I gave it to the mechanic disassembled as bnt say they don\'t reassemble them for what ever reason? it was a genuine sti clutch that had been up rated to 3620lbs brought it off B4 2000, the rest I can\'t answer you sorry!

I once had my clutch replaced in my td27 turbo navara and I didn\'t get the fly wheel machined they just fitted the new hd exeedy kit and it went absolutely fine so i\'m sure its something related to how they put the clutch on the fly wheel or how it was reassembled as previously stated.

wait so someone else fitted the clutch? have you spoken to them yet?

yeah I didn\'t do it lol! yes spoke to them and they said every thing was done right and effectively its not their problem.. they said it could be the fly wheel..

Well i would be taking it back. A bit of shudder at take off is normal. Vibration > 4k is not.

I would be getting the facts on balancing tbh. Pressure plates can be massively out.

yeah this shudder isn\'t normal its exsessive also the clutch smells abit, tbh my money is on them not putting the fly wheel back together properly!
