Help - sporty auto daily driver 2009 Mazda3 SP25 or 2007 WRX S-GT?

Late arriver, haven't read the entire thread but I got my Mrs a 2004 Axela 2.3l, its a very nice little car and goes like a rocket from 0-70 so awesome around town.

On the open road its a bit gutless over 100kmh so not a super quick passer but very able. The 2005 onwards got a nicer Auto box apparently for better fuel consumption.

To answer my original question SP25 vs. WRX/S-GT

3rd Gen WRX/S-GT for the win

An SP25 is a good car but it doesn't make that cool turbo noise or push you back in your seat

Also 3rd Gen WRX/S-GT is cheaper than SP25

also cheaper to service... special tools required for the sp25 oil change, LOTS of issues with people using incorrect tools, and a month or so after service it blows a big end due to oil loss, it all seeps out of the oil filter cover

Yea apparently cheap mechanics/cowboys use poly grips or similar and crack the cover. Resulting in leaking all the oil out and bang goes engine. Me and the mrs bought an 05 SP23 and first thing I bought was the proper oil filter housing socket, was only 20 bucks off TM and works perfect. Dont know why anyone would do it the rugged way TBH !

Happened to a mate of mine, his gfs car, month after service and it runs a big end. Happened late 2013, still going through small claims poor bastard

I've also heard of a couple of people this has happened to. Catches mechanics out for sure.

Off topic, but a friend had a place overtighten the filter on their 250hp Yamaha outboard - it ran a bearing out in the Hauraki gulf somewhere on the first trip after having the work done, cracked filter housing, workshop didn't want to know.

Yeah they wouldn't want to know because they are liable ROFL.
