GDB STI Oil light on start up

Hi Guys,

I have a just completed a GDB conversion in to my GC8. Car has been running fine until today. I used the car for a about 30 mins, came back home, car was parked for about 1 hour. When i went start it up again, the oil pressure light was on. I revved it to about 2000 rpm and the light went out. I drove the car for about 5 mins, let it park for 10 and then started it back up and the light was on. Engine temp was about 70 deg. I revved it up and the light went away. It doesn come on while driving.

Could the oil pump be on its way?

Whats the oil level like

pressure test the oil system before you go driving

likely cause faulty switch , but not worth the risk until you know for sure

I just checked the oil level. It was half. I have done only 300 k\'s since the conversion

There are no oil leaks and its not blowing any smoke. What could the likely causes be? I have driven it hard since the conversion.

oil filter draining back

oil pick up damaged

Or stickey relief valve. Put a gauge on it....

What should the oil pressure be?

10 psi per 1000 revs minimum..

Are you sure the oil was filled up correctly to start with?

idle cold about 80-90psi and warm about 30-40psi. Oil grade dependant but that\'s an acceptable ballpark for you..
