Am I getting a decent deal? (Approximate value of this Version 6 STI)

Hi all,

I am on the verge of buying a 1999 WRX STI Version 6. It has 140,000kms on the clock, very stock apart from Tein adjustable suspension, interior and exterior are both immaculate, white with tradition gold rims.

I am looking at paying $8,000 for it. Do you think it\'s a decent deal? Or am I being ripped off? I just haven\'t bought anything like this before, so would like to hear some of your knowledgeable opinions.

Buy it before someone else does thats hell sharp. Even uncerted thats cheap as being that a cert is only $450. Do get a mech check done tho to make sure its not a lemon coz damn thats cheap.

From the details you give it sounds like a very good deal to me - assuming it\'s a genuine V6 STi

Thats the very low end of market value for that year / model - let alone a tidy one

Its a V5 dude. Only real difference is the spoiler is ever so slightly different and 5 has no front lip iirc. Engine/tune/running gear are all identical.

Hell yes. Thats still on low end of km scale also. Biggest thing is the cert which like I said is only $450 odd anyway if it doesnt already have it.

yup thats a great deal for 8g, i paid 8.7 for my 5 which i thort was good, had rebuild tho and similar, leave it as is and have fun in it, there awsome cars

full tank of 95 as theres no 98 here i get over 500ks open road, around town no idea as wife use\'s it daily

id dont think they are all that bad on gas really . it aint no prius but its far better than anything rb powered .

it doesnt take lots of gas to move a light weight car . however if wouldnt daily one

Untouched my foz and V5 were awesome could get 600-650km on mixed open road and town driving even with a few thrashes thrown in. Both had new afm and O2 which couldve had a bearing on it.

just I believe thats a wrx bumper not sti (spotlights and no covers)

thats a good point . get the applied model coda off the strut tower

will start with gc8 f/g and will tell you the exact spec of what your buying

if its a wrx and not sti i personally wouldn\'t pay 8 for it as for a bit extra you could be looking at a gdb v8 sti ect

Wouldnt be the first time theres been an sti with lights and no covers. You would need to be more than double 8g to get into a V8 sti. Unless its rolled bowled and ar*eholed thro turners auctions or something.

Hi all, just confirmed with the owner and chassis that it is 100% a V5 STI. That photo was just from Carjam and wasn\'t the correct car (apparently similar)

The one I am looking at is essentially the same as this, but mine is one year newer, less kms and mine has the older 5-spoke rims. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=621695015

Does anybody know where I can get a set of those rims seen on the car in that auction?

Guys, the seller has just told me about a recent issue: a noise, quite quiet, that occurs when taking the foot off the accelerator and engaging the clutch, mainly occurring in 2nd and 3rd gear

Anyone know what this could be and how much to fix?

The seller is also refusing to go below $8,200. Still a good deal?

Get richard from s.a.s. to do an inspection pre purchase = winning? He should be able to quote you on the fix also.
