BP/BL Muffler options

I\'ve got a set on my GT sedan here in Christchurch if you\'re curious. They came on the car from Japan. My take is that they sound great, but don\'t really improve the aesthetics.

Well that set on trademe ended up going for $465, someone really wanted them.

Probably going to end up buying a set of Ultrex mufflers when they\'re back in stock, I\'ll have to post a vid of them when I get them.

Keen to see what you\'ve done Syphe as I am pursuing something similar in an H6.

I want to swap centre muffler for a coby, and delete one rear muffler and change the pipe up to 3 inch at the dually merge point and suitable rear muffler, maybe a Remus?

ended up getting a set of sti genomes for $300. should arrive early next week so keen to get them on to see what they\'re like.

If you\'re still looking in 5 weeks Ultrex in Aus should have some of their mufflers in stock, it\'ll be less than $600 shipped to NZ for a brand new item, so worth a look.

Good price, and they look to be in pretty good condition too (with a little help from Autosol!).

Genomes arrived this morning, took them out of the bubblewrap and inspected the level of polish and very impressed. Was going to get some autosol on the way home but no need they are pretty much as new except for some scraping on the bottom.

Anyway, I got impatient, had a meeting at work then immediately drove home to install them in the drive. Very happy with the results, bit of a pain to get in the hangers but got them all bolted up and they sound great.

Almost no extra noise at idle, and eliminate any raspiness the stock mufflers were creating, instead just a nice deep tone which just gets angry over 4k.

Will put some pics up in the weekend and hopefully get a sound clip too.

Mine get angry at 3k and then its just ya!

Taken with a Nexus 4, which doesn\'t capture much of the deep note of the exhaust, so use your imagination.

I see you\'ve already got yours.

I was looking at options for my Legacy GT-B sedan, and am seriously considering a pair of V8 chamber oval mufflers from AdrenalinR in Hastings for $500 a pair), look to be an exact size fit to factory ones. Full stainless, triple packing, louvered tubes, look mint.

Having used a pair of these (round ones) in V config on my MR2 which was 3" straight through from the turbo, I was amazed at

a) the deep sporty tone (not raspy)

b) near factory DB rating.
