OBD2 socket

Anyone know if this port is always live on a Legacy?

I want to plug a blue tooth OBD2 using in. My XR6 was always on so had to keep removing it.

2013 leggy? You\'d be looking at a can-bus capable dongle, and from memory it should be under the driclvers steering wheel, or there abouts

2001 RSK B4 - I think its always hot - when I plug in Wifi dongle, it lights the LED

Is that the one you can hook up with the torque app? What sort of data do you get from it?

Well i cant find the socket. Anyone point me in the right direction? Looked under the Steering wheel and only found some fuses (thought it might be in there. It was with the XR6) and an airbag (for knees i guess).

Is that the one you can hook up with the torque app? What sort of data do you get from it?

I have the Torque app and a bluetooth OBD11 plug, Have not used it on a subaru but on the few hiace vans and a sprinter I have used it on pretty much any info you want/need is available.

if it has a sensor for it then it should be able to read the data,

on my driving screen I usually have boost,common rail pressure,speed ( gps and speed sensor) intake air temp,oil temp,oil pressure and water temp,

Well after much crawling around i think i have found it. Its just above the gas pedal. Its not easy to see and its white (i though it was going to be black.

going to plug it in to night and see what i get.

i was right. Unfortunately its also always on, so if I leave the OBD Bluetooth unit plugged in all the time i\'ll end up with a flat battery.

I have a solution; find the power wire for it, and re-route it via the ignition.

-although it is rather odd that it is always on, even with the ignition off. Doesn\'t sound very subaru-like at all.

I have Engine link HD and an iPad - works for OBD2 standard PID\'s. Subaru-specific SSM doesn\'t like the wifi (and/or Bluetooth) ELM 327 dongles - something to do with the data transmission encoding. You can pull CEL codes off though - for more detailed data, use an EBAY Vag-Com cable $20 from hong kong with learning view/laptop or Romraider software to read sensor data or read/write ECU with more expensive tactrix cable

what application are you using it top leave it in?

I\'m using a Bluetooth dongle and torque on my android. With power always being on the Bluetooth is always on.
