BH5 TT Engine Mounts

Mine are both torn:

OEM replacement through Subaru - $359+GST each.

Repco - $652 pair or $730 pair depending on choice.

I ordered some through my normal supplier from the \'Mount Shop\' at $134 each which turned up today, but they are wrong. Called the Mount Shop and the BG mounts that arrived are the only option they have.

These are what I need: 41022AE021 (RH) and 41022AE031 (LH)

Found on ebay:

Does anyone know a local supplier with a cheap option for the BH/BE?

Subaru Lego......

The round ones always seem to tear. I just swap them out for the square ones (think sti ones are possibly stiffer but that may be just the group n ones).

Haven\'t managed to destroy one of the square ones yet.

Yip any mounts should fit, as long as the mount comes with the \'engine side\' mounting plate. From what I\'ve seen the OEM BE/BH mounts are the only ones that are a one piece unit (pic ^)

But I\'ll let you know for certain in about an hours time :) Not a tricky job, just awkward without a hoist. I\'ll take a few pics while I\'m under there.

Edit: Possibly mounts change in 04, but I haven\'t confirmed it yet???

Perfect fit, the WRX mounts are 4mm taller. So anyone with bonnet/TMIC clearance issues be cautious. You may also find you need to unbolt your Pitch Stopper at the Firewall to get your mounts out but I haven\'t needed to.

I started by removing the lower engine cover, then chocking the Rear Wheels in gear with park brake on. Jacked the front end and placed on axle stands. bla bla lol

Then I removed both side\'s Mount>Chassis Bolt (14mm):

Then I placed a jack with a block of wood under the passenger side of my sump, because my Pitch Stopper is still in I want to rotate the engine rather than just lift it. I\'ve loosened my Air box Intake Pipe for some slack, keep a good eye on your Lower Radiator Hose/looms etc when lifting the engine. I lifted it until the bottom stud was almost clear (about 20-25mm).

Then I unbolted the Mount/Engine Front Bolt (14mm):

The rear Engine bolt is the only crap part about this job, I had to move my axle stands around to get right underneath, this is a 14mm spanner on the rear bolt:

Passenger/Left Engine Mount Removed, it pulled out towards the front of the car:

Well....

This is my good mount:

WRX Mount installed from the front again, Perfect fit.

I left the main Chassis Bolts off until both mounts were in. A little wiggle on the sump to centre everything then tightened up. Bolt Torque Specs for all of the Engine Mount Bolts are 25.3 ft/lbs (34nm).

Thanks to Koom for advise, rslegy for the parts offer and Dvnt for some cheap mounts. No more engine rocking at idle, clunks/knocks or engine twisting.

;D

Edit: I did the easy side first, the drivers side rear bolt is even more fun with the Steering Column in the way...

That\'s some good info! Thanks a bunch, think I will get on to this sooner rather than later now :)

Cool, no worries Man. The Perrin Group A Mounts through FortyOneAutomotive are the best I\'ve seen yet. If going second hand everybody\'s said go the square mounts over round, Stiffer/Stronger/Last longer. ;D

Or \'Strong For Subaru\' for OEM, but they don\'t have engine plate for BH/BE:

Another Q, couldn\'t the engine plate be swapped over from the existing mount to the new one?

Not the OEM BH5 mounts, they are a one piece mount. (the plate doesn\'t unbolt) All the other mounts have 2 studs on top to connect the plate.

OEM BH5

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
