any C.V joint gurus on here? wanna pick holes in my latest crazy plan?

Alright, so my latest stroke of lunacy involves increasing the range of articulation in each of my c.v joints. Something i have absolutely zero experience in.

I intend to achieve this by way of machining 1-2mm (or whatever is appropriate) from the outer \'lip\' of each cv housing.

They\'re currently stopping me from releasing the full potential of my crafty new steering setup.

(I neglected to consider the fact that FF\'s have driveshafts in amongst the steering zone while devising my steering upgrade, based off what I\'d seen on various big-lock drift rwd\'s. that downbuzz moment when I discovered this, post installation, was enough to stir up a personal vendetta against my lame lock-limiting cv\'s)

So yeah, I\'m sure to be neglecting some crucial factor or pitfall about this plan?

the outer CV is held together by a large circlip running around the inside of the outer ( some vehicles have this some dont)

other than that it is just that it cant physically move far enough to fall to bits UNLESS you modify the steering to turn more :)

You could try one and see what happens BUT I pretty much think you wont be able to machine enough out to make enough of a difference.

Also they will only turn so far before they will bind up..

I don\'t follow what you are trying to achieve? What is machining the CV going to do for you? Are you wanting more lock, a wider track or something else?

I think you are saying you want more lock? But why do you need more lock on a slippery surface, get the rear to rotate and you need less lock... Adding more lock is just going to increase the chances of blowing a CV apart when applying power with the steering locked all the way in one direction?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
