Changing wagon to van on Rego?

I heard you can change your wagon to a van on the rego form so that you can tint the back windows more and have signage etc on the rear windows?

Is this true and how legal is it?

it has to be registered to a company for starters.

but yes it can be done and then tinted to 0% behind the drivers windows....

yup need a company to register the vehicle, did this with an old station wagon of mine, had 5%'s in the back, had to remove rear seats as well when i did it (10 years ago)

asked a guy doing a wof on my work van about a similar thing, van has 5%'s with perferated signwriting over that and makes it almost completely blacked out, said it was all good on company vehicle, van doesn't have and can't have rear seats cause of shelves etc.

yea i think cops have those aswell? but there seem to be darker 35%s than others, my legacy had 35%s and it wasnt dark at all!

some OE windows are factory tinted, when you combine this with 35% tints its more like 20-25%.

Came into the country like this. Anyone had this before and how hard to strip? just looks fugly as the WoF guy has used his scraper to remove an old sticker and garfed it up.
