Removing adhesive mounts from dash

Our new legacy came from Japan with a dashtop mounted GPS unit and another random bracket stuck to the dashboard. Someone has attempted to remove the random bracket and it has started to peel the black dashtop lining. The GPS unit mount is still firmly stuck. So I have two questions. Firstly how can I remove the GPS mount without damaging/pulling the dash lining off. Secondly, how can I fix the damage to the dash from the other bracket? Is there any special glue for this?

Acetone, or Nail polish remover.

Acetone might leave some residue, try gently heating the mounts with a hair drier (or not so gently - dash gets real hot under the sun if you think about it.. but then the adhesive on those mounts will be heat resilient too... :)

1 strand of a bike brake cable tied to a "handle" at either end . and saw back and forward under neath it .also works great on badges, will get them off . then try meths or something on whats left . should turn it into a gooey mess you can get rid of with enough rags and rubbing

Heat gun / hair dryer - then use a piece of nylon under the mount

Soak it in De-solve it would be safest bet. You get it from mitre 10, bunnings. Excellent stuff!
