hi guess having some problems finding some performance parts for my 1997 subaru legacy gt tt (twin turbo) (bilstein model not sure if that helps).

ok so at the moment im just looking at getting a new down pipe system, braided lines for the turbos (oil and maybe water), and maybe somthing to help with the vod so maybe a electronic boost controller or plug and play box for the obd. The car has a apexi turbo time apexi pod filter and muffler (not sure on make).

This is my first subaru as ive come from a vw/toyota background and all though the basic parts of this engine is vw based (camper bettle engine) i have to say subaru have im proved on it some what and im very suprised and happy with what ive landed my self with.

Every website i have gone on the earlyest lgt they do is like 2002. would parts off some of the newer legacys (down pipes) that kinda thing fit my car.

ive got a lot to learn i know but need a little guidance or website pointing.

by the way the car has been well cared for full sercive history with subaru and subaru parts everything works as it should.

there is nothing to be gained from changing the turbo oil lines and water lines .

for a start there isnt enough room to put all the adaptors and threads and pipes etc .

it would literally cost 300 dollars in parts . involve removing both turbos . which is the best part of a day . and achieve absolutely nothing

2002 stuff is single turbo and no use to you .

tbh unless u stumble on some after market 2nd hand headers from someone u the best bang for buck is just de cat yours .

silicone turbo to IC pipes is well worth doing . and free up some other parts

rage do a tt downpipe system iirc, but it\'s not cheep. also run into issues of overspeeding the primary, boost cut etc.

best option to reduce VOD is a zerosports sequential controller, but they are rare as all f**k and cost moonbeams when they do pop up. there are a few ecu swap options that can help, such as the prova ecu, which seem to pop up on TM here and there, about the $200 mark iirc.

if your car is ex japan, don\'t even bother looking into the obd stuff, you open yourself a whole world of hurt...

  • 2 weeks later...

That sl-i site is useless, they don't get the import TT cars so not much help to be found for kiwis

Unless you want to learn how to supercharge a 2.2 brighton motor or something

There are cheap things you can do, same as any turbo car - big exhaust is good, intake pipe type things are good, replacing the stock boost control with a $20 bleed valve seems to help with the VOD in my experience, replacing the intercooler is good (yours is the same as the STi of the same year already) - if it were me I'd go front mount - past that either just enjoy it or spend the lump sum on going to single turbo

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
