zero lag setup

What I read was pulse jets in the headers/ uppipes and a compressor chamber of sorts for the inlet for ensuring the airflow remains up there(so pulse jet can keep pulsing). I just think having a pulse jet would make it sound awesome.

Though I though mounting turbos like that was bad? Or has all that changed because of the zero lag choochoo?

Probably to do with it being like the king of all IHI turbos? and that they would only use the turbo for one rally then fit a new unit...?

Yeah I've done a pretty decent amount of research into this.

The up-pipe is replaced with a unit referred to as the "rocket"

This is a conical section about the size of those weird 1L coke bottles.

As far as I understand it, the exhaust passes as usual up the center.

A system of valves (basically a glorified wastegate) feeds boost from pre-throttlebody into the outer shell of the "rocket"

This is where it gets a bit vague, and there may be different versions that do this part differently.

Either the spark is cyclicly skipped/retarded, or a standalone injector (direct injection style high temperature/pressure) is used to introduce fuel into the exhaust. I believe the later versions inject it at the same place the air feed comes in.

Either way, you have a very fuel-rich exhaust gas, combined with oxygen coming in from the compressor, which undergoes a relatively (compared to just exploding in the headers like a bang-bang setup) controlled burn in the shell of the "rocket"

This burn is focussed by the nozzle-like exit of the unit directly into the turbine housing.

Bonuses:

No bang-bang (love it or hate it) means no shock loading on the turbine, more consistent boost, boost at idle, good stuff like that.

Downsides:

EGTs are through the friggin' roof, Inconel required to make the "rocket" last more than about 5 minutes, turbo also suffers due to essentially having a crude rocket engine firing up it's arse. These are things that don't matter when you're a WRC team, but maybe aren't so good on a road car.

I'm still going to try and copy it on the Slippery Gypsy. Will be using a wastegate to feed boost into the exhaust and a cheap DI injector (probably off a ****ty old Mitsy) to feed the fuel in, see what happens and what breaks.

Apparently the guts of it look like this:

EXTERNAL-COMBUSTION-ROCKET-ANTI-LAG-SYST

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
