Urgent setting base timing on g4.

Ive got timing light and pc hooked up and its flashing at roughly 40deg btdc which seems way out. Im running a v5 crank pulley with no damper but think tdc mark is in same place.

I would think if it was actually 40deg btdc i would have nothing left in my block.

Ideas? Or does anyone have a pic of a v5/6 pulley mark?

V5 pulley with avcs head stuff, that seems like it could get awkward. Well if you were running factory stuff. I've got some pictures of crank and stuff I may have something that'll find pulley marks.

Edit: google browser found this.

All sorted. Web says that to test cop you clip it over the ignitor wire but thats a crock. Ended up checking tdc which was perfect then rigged up a standard lead so i could do it properly. Turns out the v10 base map was perfect and i can stop trying to figure out how the impossible was possible.

So v5/6 pulley and ej25 v10 have identical timing marks.
