Relevant to B4's RSK and so on "Intercooler discussion"

Hi fellow members! This is Subaru Ho

Recently I have been gathering some information in regards to After Market Intercoolers, I get my stuff installed mostly in Lightning Motorsports since I'm from Hamilton, and I'm trying to decide whats better.

I need some insights on "After Market Front mount intercooler Versus Aftermarket Top Mount Intercooler"

the things I've heard so far, is that both those things costs an arm and a leg lol around $600-$800 + cutting of the front bumper depending on whether you do front mount or not.

apparently the after market top mount gives you the stealth look as well as something like a 15 PSI drop in pressure or something like that... and increases Turbo response (maybe spools faster?)

while a front mount.... stores cooler air and keeps it in the pipes better.... and more surface area but longer piping meaning.... More Turbo LAG and crappier low end Turbo Response, but higher power at higher RPM's

Is everything I'm saying so far correct? and what is better?

I think really it comes down to the w@nk factor, both have there pros and cons....

I think if you are prepared to do a fmic setup yourself it shouldn't cost that much... i did my old legacy fmic for $400 all up.

ive heard bad things about twins with front mount setups, i didnt think the b4 needed a IC upgrade until your making higher power, altho any power boost is a bonus

id stick with the top mount on a twin turbo

yer your comments are all about right.

the TMIC does more than good enough job on twins, and Fmic gives wank factor.

a 15psi drop in TMic doesnt sound right.. thats like all your secondary boost ? ???

anything over 50kmh the TM will cool as much as you need it to.

spend money else where or get a single turbo

Get a front mount and some chromies - they look mean as! With the money you save from just cutting your springs you should be able to afford a few subs and some checkerplate floor mats too.

Dont forget to install a few extra tachos for monitoring all that extra power the front mount will give you. At least 3 will be needed.

Seriously. Do some better research. Top mounts are just fine unless your pushing 200kw atw (which you never will with a twin turbo) or your trying to compensate for a small penis.

Still trying to find the sarcasm? Sounds like good advice ;-)

[/lol surprise W@nka factor, well sounds like its pretty cool and no i'm not going to be spending money to cut springs LOL definetly getting a set of Tein Standard Low springs as well as some 17" mags, but um so intercooler wise why does twin turbos not like the FMIC? i've heard good things about aftermarket top mounts.]

Is there even much point upgrading the TMIC? Flow-test figures I've seen showed the BE/BH TMIC to have practically identical flow performance to the Ver7 or 8 STi TMIC they were considering as an upgrade.

links? references to this..

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
