Should my 2003 BP5 Legacy pump oil to turbo when only cranking?

Hey, So im admist replacing another turbo on my 2003 BP5 legacy. I have been told to prime the turbo by connecting oil feed and cranking the car. I wanted to test if oils was pumping before I did this and when I tried it NO oil pumped. I have discovered that it does however pump oil when the car is started and idling.

Should there be oil pressure when cranking?

kwi_fozze']Didn't replace with another vf38 did you?

Check the oil filters at each end of the oil feed lines

I did originally, that replacement Vf38 didn't last long... going for a VF44 now.

So you get oil come out of the supply line if you try crank it with the turbo supply removed?

You'll atleast know its making its way to the turbo or not that way

No, i get no oil coming from turbo oil supply line when cranking the engine over (Crank position sensor unplugged) but I do get oil coming through when the car is fully started and idling,.

Had same problem once out of 15 odd times on same car...

Does the oil pressure light go out ?

A bb turbo only wants abour a litre a minute when its running so at crank rpm id say none would come out it .

If it comes out when idling then id be happy enough

It takes about 20 seconds for an oil light to go out on the starter motor . Then u have a lik 1mm hole feeding into 200mm of 3 mm steel hose so itd prolly take half an hour for oik to come out it on the starter . Unless the engine had just been running

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
