Yup... big thumbs down...

I feel like writing to them!!

Poll added to show disgust at decission!!!

And before everyone else around the country says meh just Wellington... WRONG!!!!

It is Nationwide BP are making moves to remove 98 from almost all regions North and South Island.

Vote above and make a comment below I will forward the thread to BP management.

And Make sure you include how many litre's approx you use per week.

This is not true... BP is not passing up the supply of 98. Stocks have been slow to arrive from Australia. It is not being phased out..

As well as fuel voucher I got a hand written note from Samantha and 2x passes to Manfield V8's this weekend "for an apology for the inconvenience our BP Ultimate stock issue has caused me"

I mainly use 95 V power but do about 1 tank per fortnite of 98. I use 98 for race days and big trips. However we use BP for prado..albeit 91 and go thru about 80 litres per week..I wld switch to Shell in protest if 98 goes out..which doesnt now seem to be the case.

NZV8's are currently the best thing in NZ racing !

Toyota series can barely rustle up a half full grid.

Production racing is boring, as are the Mini Challenge and Porsche Cup.

All of which will be racing this weekend.

How much was the fuel voucher for ?

Sux BP are deserting smaller towns like Dannevegas.

Jst got bk from taupo..BP mana got me up on 98 and BP taupo back..car loved it as well. Rained all the way back so Desert road had its moments. Usual array of tossers on the road. About 3 crashes i saw one the climb up to desert road flat..just smacked straight into bank at right angles at 3.30pm. Golf ok..great mtb race at Craters of the Moon..very fast trails up there...or it was for all the people who passed me..but I got them on the climbs. Kids have no fear either as they barrel past.

....i perfer mobil 98 more anyway...

Friend of mine is a Petroleum Insertion Engineer, and BP and Mobile share the same 98, comes from the same storage tanks in Tauranga (where the 98 is sent to from Auz) and its not uncommon to see a BP tanker filling up a Mobile petrol station

Helps when you have a friend working in BP, because quite often when they run out there is still some fuel left in the tanks but they just close it off to the general public, though dunno how good the last bit of fuel would be good for your car? Oooh well still gotta be better than 91

I have heard of that. The fuel tanks over here are now owned by BP and they own all the storage tanks. They store Bp, shell, caltex etc

Used to be owned by caltex but they must had desided to sell them in the 1990s.

I guess it depends how many tanks there are in the storeage area for the region.

if theres not enought then i guess who ever owns the tanks whould have the priotory over what fuel is stored there. so if theres only storage for one lot of 98 then of course BP would hold there lot there and supply other brands with there gas

Is all the 98 in the storage tanks in Tauranga shipped out from there to other locations in NZ or is that 98 only for the Nrth island/ auckland region?

All fuel of various octane ratings are created equal. As in - all over the country it is stored in the same tanks (obviously different tanks for different octane) The only difference is the additive that each brand adds to the tanker when it fills up at the depot.

This may not be true for smaller suppliers like Challenge or Gull (or so the rumours say anyway) But the big 3, Shell, BP and Caltex definitely all come from the same storage tanks.

as far as I know, ALL of the 98 in the country goes to Tauranga, not really too sure why (maybe cheaper for them to store it in Tauranga than Auckland), but it explains the reason for shortages. And from memory a tanker comes most weeks to refill it? Its useful to know, because it makes me feel better when I have to buy fuel from mobile in a shortage that its the same as whats already in my tank, only annoying thing is mobile is all pre payed now, makes filling a tank a pain haha

I was wondering about that. Cause as long as i remember the BPs in Chch has never had a shortage of 98.

I knew Nrth Island had shortages and heard it was that the boat was delayed.

was thinking if it all came from Tauranga then we would had been hit with shortages too?

Maybe we have alot more storage here in CHCH? BP did Increase the fuel tank storage size about 2002 or sometime round there

Yeah, i had run BP 98 for quite a while, but switched to mobil 8000 because (at the time) it was around 6c/L cheaper.

Then, after several times lifting the pump at Mobil, and having some 'disembodied voice' tell me i had to pay first, i got pissed off and simply hung up the pump and drove away.

In the end, i didn't even bother, moving back to BP 98 instead...

Anyone else notice that, even when on prepay, the pumps dispence around 1/2 a litre before stopping... ;D

I Hate pre paid on fuel stations.

When i was driving my GSR back from Auckland i stoped in at this BP and it had Prepaid.

Went in paid about 50.

fuelled it up as much as i could.

Then i had to go back in side and ask for the remander of my cash back.

then leave.

means things take double the time etc

Yeah I think it still comes from Tauranga, but they must truck it down to big storage containers? So it was YOU guys that stole all our fuel! haha

Its pain, even when you offer to leave your drivers license or anything else they still refuse at mobile. BP down in Gissy didn't used to be prepaid, its just changed, but if you go in and ask they let you fill it up, just takes a smile.

update - planning trip to Speedtech this weekend and notice BP's Ultimate Locator still woefully out of date:

Hi Jared

Thank you for email and bringing this error to our attention.

We have now updated the locator tool on the website to reflect that BP

Connect Dannevirke does not stock BP Ultimate.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
