Adjustable Suspension - to get or not to get

I've got d2s in my outback currently. Had d2s in previous cars also and never had issues. They are nice and soft on the softest setting and firm on the hardest.

My cars just to low and the rear bumpstops make contact with the upper control arms quite frequently.

Allow at least $600 on top for a cert.

Then remember, if you ever change your rims to a different diameter / width to whats certed, you need to go for a re-cert. Exhaust changes can be picked up, interior stuff...

Certs make future mods a lot more restrictive.

Tbh, i'd do all mods that require a cert last, and all at the same time, so you only get stung by a cert once

I thought about D2's they seem to be highly recommended

The aussies get seriously damp for these ones. Digressively valved. Most actually go back to stock swaybars with them since they apparently behave so well.

Only thing i've always wondered is how future proofed they are when it comes to rebuilding them, are replacement parts guaranteed to be around in 2-5 years.

What do you want to achieve with them?

If you just want low, get some springs.

If you want it for the ride, to be honest the Bilsteins are about as firm as you want in a daily for NZ's **** roads, if you don't have them get some.

Those Shockworks struts look really nice but you do pay a bit for them.

I'd have a look for some Ohlins DFV if you're really set on adjusties.

When they came out D2's got bagged by everyone for being cheap crap, much like rota wheels and a few other brands

If you don't need the ability to adjust the height why bother getting height adjustment? Just adds cost

On a stripped out wrx or a weekend racer civic then sure you can cope with a bumpy ride, personally I think it wrecks the point of buying a comfort spec legacy if you're going to just chuck harsh struts in it. May as well have bought a WRX and not had the weight penalty

As for comfort / harshness it's all relative I guess. You might drive it and be like "this is mint as" - your old man might hop in a go "jesus this is terrible". How harsh the ride is does not translate to how well it handles remember. Depends on who uses the car I spose

On the plus side, if you have any top heavy girl mates the results are hilarious

Did you consider Bilstein struts ? Adens tyres in Tauranga are selling + have free freight. Unsure of cost, but most likely well under the $2500 budget and no cert required.

Extra $$ left over for sticky tyres and some front LCA bushings if the stock ones are shot (oil filled and usually rooted by 80,000 kms)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
