WRX resale value

Personally bought mine for 14k in January 2004, and sold it recently for $8000 privately. I thought $6k depreciation was actually ok for 5.5 years of ownership.

In saying that it was not overly modified, and the mods that were done were the basics with good brand name parts.

It was as close to immaculate as you would get for a 1996 car.

I was actually thinking about this the other day, and worked out that the 3 jap performance vehicles that have held their value the best over the last ten years would have to be the r32 GTR, the 180sx and the Evo 6.5 Makkinen.

Perhaps we all ought to go and invest in one of the three. I curse myself that i didnt save up a bit longer and buy a 180sx back when i bought my WRX.

My V9 STi paid $30K for in early '08. Had a few small mods, and it was in mint shape with 50,000kms. Couldnt even give it away for $23K (other V9's were still in $30K mark)

Sold it to brother-in-law. Who sold it to 4 guys auto bahn in Hams. They were asking $32K for it last time i checked.

Should of just brought it to aussie with me.

I have always sold my Sti's for more than I paid for them, you just have to purchase at the right time, from the right person + lots of negotiation.... :)

+1 ive always got the around about same amount back from my cars, i think key is buying them cheap

Goes the other way too!

I sold my 6L '61 Plymouth in 1988 for $7500, now worth approx $18,000-20,000.

I sold a low milage (i think around 69,000mls) mint as 1970 HT Premier (factory 308 4bbl) in almost as new condition for $2300 in 1993. Now, it'd be closer to $23,000.

I'd hate to think what my mates left hook 1979 Z28 Camaro (totally orig apart from us racing rims and huge BFG tyres) with 350 4 bolt mains pontiac block, 4 spd manual (traction pack equipped LSD) would go for now...

If only... ;)

I was looking at selling mine to fund my karting but not worth it. Bought it cheap enough but its modified enough only someone in the scene or the club would probably buy it for what i want.

Certainly spent lots on it but its ten times better now than when i first did buy it.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
