Depends on how much time stuffing about with your car.

Many people just turn up without prepping their car for Dyno time.

About $600 or under.

The tune should be pretty bang on untill i put the boost up and put bigger injectors on ( after its run in)

so i cant imagine it being to much of a pain in the a** but then i wouldnt have a clue :-\

$600 or unders fine

make it safe to even turn a wheel on the dyno.

vac leaks dont help tuning and are hard to find so cost money to fix.

oil and coolant in the engine?

no leaks that will catch fire no leaks at all

easy access to tie down points if on rolling road.

exhaust correctly fitted and not going to fall off?

its just simple stuff that will usually fuck it up for you.

bank on 1000 if you want it done properly but in saying that, a road tune can be useful before hand as dyno time is expensive and a road tune will iron out the problems for half the hourly rate.

what does BC5RA mean by many people turn up without preparing there car for dyno tune...what do i need to do before it goes in for a tune to save me money $$$

Just too add to what Boostcut posted.

But even just the basics. Because lets face it people are stupid.

Ensure a full fuel level,

Tire pressures checked,

Basic maintenance procedures have been performed, and then prepare to watch your car fanged periodically through the rev range in a static position.

doh! full of the fuel you intend to run in your car helps too. i know people who dyno thier car with elf race fuel and then wonder why it detonates on 98. fail you dumb fuck

You will want at least half a tank..

I would say 1 out of 3 cars that we tune gets dropped off with a 1/4 tank or less.. I have even had them dropped off on the E light!..

Ah so thats why NZEFI Im going to next week want me to drop it off the day before for prep work. Hmm will make sure to do all those basics as will save me a few hours of labour at least.

Must admit I was thinking wtf?? What prep work haha

There is other bits such as 02 sensor port etc. Often there is none, the 02 sensor is seized in, or the hole in the exhuast pipe is to small..

a wideband requires a 14mm hole. most people seem to only drill a 10mm hole, or a 13mm if were lucky and then you have to file it out with a small file...

Its a pain to have to sort that out once the cars on the dyno..

Its also worth checking every single Silicon hose join to make sure they are tight enough, there's none that are half poped off etc as this can effect spool time and the tune.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
