you need the numbers off the plate (factory stamp thing) on the strut tower. When i got them for my V3 STI, there were several different kinds for my year/model and it came down to what the numbers said, the model appiled codes and what not.

Go in to Armstrongs with that and they will see you right :)

edit: oh yes.. when you get the gasket set, make sure you get new copper washers and the plastic gromets to go with.. the old ones compress and go brittle on you and they dont give as much compression holding the new gasket tight.

Its all been covered before, but get GENUINE!! the aftermarket ones just arent the same, washers are not as thick, gromets are crap and gaskets not the same quality.

Its real easy to change yourself with some patience.

I agree on the genuine ones.

dont expect change from $260 for the real ones, thats what it cost me for my forester ones,2 days after buying a set from repco....= crap = leaked! :D

Yes correct, thats with the half moon seals and bolt seals also.

We all know if you do it,do it right and replace the lot=no leaks and a rare suubby :D

But how do you know theres oil in it if you dont get a fresh sample on the driveway every night?

When i did my Honda the biggest problem was scraping off the old RTV and getting a good sized bead of new stuff on there. Worst part was watching a fair sized lump of old sealant catapult itself into an oil gallery. RTV needed on the Subaru ones?

I used the goold old aeromotive gasket sealer from holts, its like a black tar.

seals well, mainly the cam cover corners that need to be sealed down for a good seal, and those little half moon seals.

thats my 10cents ;D

Thats what i was shown by waiuku subaru spares when they did my twin turbo about 7 years back, they used a specific sealer, unsure of the name ....could have been hylomar? :)

Dont use sealer, youll never get the stuff off and if you get a bit in an oil gallery your engines stuffed. it came from the factory without sealer so it will be fine with the gaskets. Frustrating fkcuing job, but reasobaly simple to do your self. Have a plaster ready for your knuckles ;D

can anyone else cut a better deal or should i just pay that much for them?

sounds about right based on trade prices i have gotten, they certainly aren't the cheapest of seals/gaskets. hence why i didnt do mine while my engine was out, they were done 3 years ago when i bought the car anyway.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
