Welded centre diff 94 Impreza

Hi all,

 

Am in the process of a RWD conversion on an Impreza derby car. Have stripped the centre diff and cut off the splines for the front output.

Will welding the spider gears through the little viewing hole be enough? Have seen other posts where the top plate is completely welded to the main body?

Thanks for the reply mate. Yeah have read both those posts and just about every one I can find online. Have found a decent amount of conflicting information. Such as this vid on YouTube where he welds up the main body of the diff body and not the spider gears at all. 

 

Derby is Waikaraka Park this Saturday! Should be a bit of fun for sure
