A plug for "Bits for Subaru" the wreckers

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Just wanted to plug the wrecking yard called "Bits for Isuzu & Subaru" in Auckland

I have been quering them on and off for parts for my TT to T conversion, i finally settled on what i need after many a discussuion with them and they were really helpful.

I delt with a chap call Gerard. They even followed up with a phone call to let me know when to expect the parts (i am in Timaru) and asked if there was any other bits i thought i needed.

Bloody good compared to some of the redneck wreckers i have delt with and their prices were very good too!

nice one Bits for subaru! good attitudes, nice prices, great service!! A++

I recommend to all.

Cheers

Gary

you might also want to try Clunie Automotive/ Subaru WREX here in Christchurch too.

I have bought and sold many bits and bobs to them and found them to be pretty realistic to deal with.

who did u deal with there??

i got ripped by someone there, had a quote for a vf23 turbo for $300, next week it went to $400

then when i picked it up the next day it was $450 +gst and a vf24 not 23.

2 weeks later and wastegate sticks open causing boost spiking to 24psi

I am officially their highest paying retail customer...have spent THOUSANDS there and as such I know all the mean deals and who to deal with ;)

Always talk to Gerald or Nick. They know what they are talking about. The others on are n00bs, or don't know Subarus nearly as well... Gerald happens to be a guru, and will get you the right stuff. Be nice and he might even give you a wee discount.

Jono - chances are you were dealing with a range of the guys. Their VF24s are actually closer to $800 retail, so you got one HELL of a bargain as it is. Some parts also come with a warranty...so ask when you get the parts. Some are startup, or a period of months. Gearboxes are startup as are motors...others often have more of a warranty on them.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
