2004 Forester STI: Your thoughts (Bought one, new picture)

Hey guys,

Any strong opinions on the 2004 Forester STI?

What's wrong with them if anything?

Doesn't seem to be much info on the net other than overviews etc...

2.5L, 195kW, 6-speed, Brembos, 18" wheels etc.

Much nicer looking than the 05 which got hit with Subaru's ugly stick.

Heaps of info online, you need to look harder.

interesting the 04 - 05 Forester suppose to have 330HP so 225kw as appose to the STI WRX with 280HP or 205 kw.

great cars, drive very nice, and is pretty damn fast too, lol.

330hp is what some UK importers were quoting after re-tuning for UK fuel etc.

Or another Jap> Eng translation coc kup

Nah I'm stoked about it, hanging out for the weekend even more than usual.

The one I testdrove last weekend was really quick so I'm looking forward to it.

Even though it's probably watered-down power.....compared to my Mazda sp23 it'll be a beast!

Yonks ago NZ Autocar tested the 2005 Forester STi and found it faster than the NZ 05 2.5L v10 Impreza STI to 99km/h.

Why 99km/h and not the benchmark 199km/h ?

Because during testing the Forry felt just as fast as the Impreza despite the lower numbers.

To reach 100km/h, the Forry needs two gear changes, 2nd bounces off the rev limiter at 99.5km/h.

An Impreza, with higher rev limit can hit 100km/h in 2nd gear.

Bring the target speed down to 99km/h and the Forry was a smidge faster than the Impreza !

That's plenty fast with "only" 195kW.
