legacy conversion problems

You're not doing it twice, this is just information gathering...

I have yet to find a conversion pinout diagram that converts a 4 plug directly to a 3 plug!

Maybe I'll draw up my own once I've done it and ironed out any bugs, then post it up for all to use ;)

Yep, it's also been established that the 4-plug plugs plug into 3-plug ECU, and there looks to be an equal amount of re-pinning to do (about half ish) So really, i reckon it would be foolish to go with 4-plug ECU, when you can get a 3-plug in there with the same amount of hassle. The one thing about the 3-plugs are you will need to get yellow injectors, and a compatible air flow meter.

Wiring wise, take a look at this PDF, and the northursalia link above

Also, the GTB 3 plug is the same as the impreza 3plugs, only it has 4 ignition wires not 2. Regardless, it may help to have both. i fount the little diagram at the top of the gtb one very handy

hmm not sure wat to do now . could get expencive having to do injectors?

Nah you'll be sweet if you stick with an ECU from a standard WRX or Forester, you only need to upgrade injectors if you're running an STi ECU and turbo. I might have a spare Forester ECU if your interested, PM me.

What Turbo are you currently running? Mine is just a VF10 and it goes quite well running on the greys and Mines TT ECU!

i was runing a vf8 .got a downpipe made.

but i bew the turbo up on sunday (guttd!!) theres a nasty noise from the turbo like the bearings gone.

so im looking at replacing both now. i might aswel do the lot now ae? save me from having to do it later haha

ive put up on the wanted thread that im looking for a turbo to but dont no weather to go for a tdo4l .

anyone know anything about these turbos . is it better than a vf8?

Well the whole point of upgrading to 3-plug is the injectors and tune of the STi 3-plug ECU's

I'd only go with a fozzy ECU if you planned on upgrading to the STi and yellows later.

Oh and get a VF39 au, they haul :P (i got mine for $300 from a guy named paul, i can give you contact details if you want)

That's what my plan is - convert to 3 plug and use a standard WRX/Forester ECU while I still have my EJ20H (std cast pistons etc) in the car, and then when my forged STi engine rebuild is complete I'll upgrade injectors and use an STi ECU with a decent turbo.

keen if it fits? wat sorta setup would i need ? and wats a vf39 out of?

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
