Which Model of Impreza is this Steering column off?

Which Model, year, verson of Impreza is this Steering column off?

Its the one on the bottom of the picture...

Im lookings at replacing the heavy unit off the SVX with a much ligher unit.

Would a WRXs STI RA column be even lighter than a normal WRX etc?

the ra or stira steering columns are no different to the normal wrx or even non turbo ones

the only difference is to what year it suits (4 types on jdm gc/gf impreza's).

the earlier (up to ver 3) were different in part number between airbag and non airbag

Compare the indicator and wiper stalks to both versions of Impreza interior. Do they move a little bit each click, or do they have a truck-like sweep on 'em? The slender ones (IIRC) are version 4+ and only move a little way, the fatter ones (I think?) move a mile and a half and are early.

Ninja edit: It's been years since I've been in a pre-ver4 so can only remember the distance of movement comparatively.

I would if I could but thats a pic of what a guy used in Oz.

He couldnt tell me what model or verson of impreza it came off.

the column from any GC/GF impreza will work, though you may have wiring issues with anything post '97.
