Boost controller / problem in Ver9 Sti

Hey

Have recently put a boost controller into my Ver9 Sti, and cant seem to get it to boost properly.

Seems to boost about 1 bar in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. But then about 2 bar in 5th and 6th. Mucking round with the gain and duty doesnt seem to do much.

Can someone take a pic (or draw a diagram) of there set up, on anything ver 8 up. (ie twin scroll) just to make sure i have hooked it up sweet.

you must be flying with the car when the boost hit 2 bar. ;D To much for factory turbo and block.

Yea no kidding, ive only hit that once, and for a split second, never floored again in 5th or 6th.

I know its to much and i want to know how to fix it, not people telling me it way to much for the factory block... :

BTW, i mean can people draw or take pics of the way they have conected it under the bonnet etc. What hose goes to where etc.

Have you got the gizzmo manual?

I set mine to 50 duty and 10psi gain.. Gives me 15psi steady in all.

If you set her up to the manual it should be sweet..

Spec C handled 1.75bar with no worries...and quite a few people on here think a V9 STI is superior to the spec c (ha ha), so, harden up ;D

Do they have a factory boost control solenoid? If so is it hooked up still? That could be playing silly buggers.

is there still a boost pill in your vaccuum lines? if your using a stand alone boost controller you wont need that anymore

Yep it still has factory boost controller, but it is disconected.

And nope, i have replaced all the vac lines with new ones, so no pill.

My V9 use to boost like 22psi standard!!

hmmmm.....

Today i pulled the vac line off the wastegate actuator, to see if it would free boost, to eliminate the wastegate as part of the problem.

But it doesn't seem to free boost.

It pulls 1.3 bar in 1st, and then about 1.4/1.5 in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. And in 5th and 6th it free boosts.

What is up with that??

So you don't need a boost controller then. You need to wire the wastegate shut to freeboost in every gear. And I'm serious by the way. Wire it shut and see if it freeboosts. If it doesn't, its not your wastegate at fault.

Haha. Actually it does still have the factory down pipe and cat. Havent got around to that mod yet...

Well... Managed to wire my wastegate shut, and it now free boosts.. So now i know my wastegate is the problem..

So im happy that ive found the problem, but now i need a new dam wastegate lol.

It will just be the actuator. I've probably got one sitting at work. I'll have a dig around and see what I can find for you.

Why would this be a problem? i got 1.75 bar with a fully std exhaust...

I must admit that I don't have the balls to wind my boost up that high on my one. I've got 1.4bar to redline and I'm leaving it there until I get an ECU retune.
