Just when I thought it could not get any worse....................WRONG

Truth is I had a hell of a time with this GTB legacy from mechanical warranty, dodgy gearbox repair and stuffed turbos, shaft over a turbo was to go to Murch (what i paid for) yet never made it.. Impreza I brought my missus get repo'd and I cough up another $2,600 to get back.. (my conversion bux) and we are still waiting for the court date..

current I paid $950 for a HD clutch which turn out to look HD on the Ci Performance catalog (RPM CLUTCH KIT) just not to Subaru standards... I thought well hell it can not get any worse right....

WRONG........ yep I was wrong

1pm today north bound motorway near Mt Wellington traffic mounted up, into a traffic jam, I saw it and slow down 200 meters behind me, a truck driver decided (i guess) my GTB looks to long and shorten it by 2 - 4 feet..

Yes I know his insurance will cover the damage, if they don't write it off (which I hope not) I like my GTB to DEATH (no i would not buy another one) but this one, has history for me an I always want to see this converted, which Reuben offered to help with, great full, HELL YES...... (I hope it is repaired in time to do just that, before he leaves.)

Knowing that his insurance will cover it, I am going to pay close attention how and what is used to repair it.. i have to, so I don't cheapo GT parts.

my gearbox now only has 4 gears and reverse (sometimes can get it into reverse) It is pushed in so far you can see the rear chassis frame..

NOW I GUESS IT CANT GET ANY WORSE............... I HOPE

yep the driver side is push in so you can see part of the rear chassis frame.... I hope its not write off,

front is good as far as i can tell its drives (sort of) 4 gears front cant get 5th.. how much on the gards I was looking for some to get rid of the sticker ones.. any damage.

theyre actually pretty tidy.. if your picky on paint ud need a respray..

94 bg5 guards? ( same as yours?) theres a few scratches on the RH guard but not too bad.. no dents.. they are dark blue..

had them in 4 sale section for $40 the pair.

Oh that's a shame! Puts shales dent to shame :P Hope you get it fixed nice and quick so we can get started on that conversion.

Me too... I hope it's a fix.. will be a nice come back for it.. I did drive it from Mt Wellington To Manurewa fastest was in 4th (which was not fast but got there) and reverse went in a bit at home, then pop out and wouldn't go but into reverse, had to push it into the garage..

I sho hope it's not right off...

If the body has warped to the point of affecting your shift linkage - thats a write off fo' sho'

The front is good no door jams or anything, main interest in the front panel was to color match ... I'll wait to see if it repaired or ritten off...

What is that ritten off.. never had that before... do they keep my car and they give me bux.. do I keep my car as is and get f** all bux... all do I get f** all bux and I am sorry letter..

shezzz maybe it will get worse

sho did, I cant see any damage under it... gearbox does have me a little worried about things though.. I have ask the panel shop to get Highbrook Auto involved when come to the gearbox.. (I don't want no GT Box in it, if it gets repaired. I want another close ratio and pull the short shift out of this box and installed into the new one) if it's not Highbrook i have asked to see the parts before install.

I hope for good news I can do with some..

I was so box in with traffic I could not get away... I watched him brake and side into me..

That's what I was thinking, if the car was in gear and got a good enough shunt, it could of broken the 5th and reverse selector fork, or bent the shaft or something similar... Gearboxes aren't designed to accelerate the engine by being having the wheels pushed forward at speed!

yep I was in gear waiting on the traffic to move forward.. I would say it will need another gearbox.

The panel guy said.. we will swap it ... haha I said... I don't mind the swap it as long as it has the matching gearbox number as the vin plate.. there are all the same he reckons.. HUH? I said best to let Highbrook auto deal with it and stick to the panel and paint..

I know I need to watch this carefully... I truly hope it repaired

IMHO cars a write off so its all academic

I live with hope that your wrong.... yet fear the worse

If they write it off, do I keep my car, I want all the bits out of it ??? .... not my insurance that's covering it..it's the trucking firm.....

Well technically it is a case of your people speaking to their people, so your insurance company would deal with his insurance company on your behalf.

So what ever your arrangements are with your insurance company regarding your mods/things/etc you want to keep in the event of a write-off would apply.

I had a car written off previously - alcy/drunk driver drove up me bum, and I got to keep all the things I had specified (wanted to keep) in the event of a write-off.

If you haven't specified anything talk to your insurance company first thing Monday morning and ask the question as it might just help sorting things quicker. Its a mazing what some companies will do if you only ask the right person (hence call on monday, very few managers work weekends).

Holy test-a-balls man... there heap on there i would want of 4pot/ slotted rotors whiteline sway bar and links and anti lift kit, csa rims and tyres, my defi gear... dvd player screens and on it goes..

what happen if I don't accept the right off amount / deal then what? court?

They could be quite scabby pay out could it? knowing they will re-coupe some from the sale.. AHHHHH

as much as I want to, I couldn't as I would not have anything to replace it with ... take the 4 pot off and rotors ... nothing to put back in its place, i think they will notice.. ... double AHHHHHHH *&^%$^^%##%^&*(* AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers. 
       
      Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.
