the earlier 6 speeds are different slightly to the later ones

if you stuff the synchros FHI say you must replace the newer style synchros with new gearsets.

you will have to strip the box to inspect but chances are it is something standalone that is to blame

So... time for an update!

Got it back together on the Friday before Superlap. Drove it down to get used to the car and bed in the new ceramic clutch.

Went like a dream.

Get out on track in the first practice session and the car felt good. The new front helical diff was a good improvement.

Into the second practice session, coming out of Higgins I go to change from 3rd into 4th and the gear lever goes straight down - EXACTLY like it did in 5th before.

I lot of pounding the steering wheel and punching a few concrete walls the disappointment began to lessen.

So I left the car down there and have got Anton at Geartech to look at it.

Fast forward to today...........

Broken gate in the gearbox not to major and a new steel billet piece is on its way. So fingers crossed this time I wont break anything else.

Will have to fly down at some point and pick the car up.

Pity I have court on the 23rd April otherwise I would be there with bells on!

GAH what a shocker :-\ That's frustrating as hell that it went bang again, but it's not as much of a disaster as last time eh...

does it have towbar? we could bring up wrc - i could tow it on my trailer for cost? (still might be cheeper to fly depends on rates and space cos i was gunna bring small trailer with Viv's tires... they'll fit in a Spec C right?

Nah it doesnt have a tow bar, and has a set of wheels in it already. Cant fit any more in due to the cage.

mmmmm I could tow it up for the WRC too is i can get a trailer that it will fit on wont charge bugger all either as i have to go up to work

or i could drive it up and get a ride back with some one after the WRC hehehee i will be very careful hhheheheh damn to much laughing
