So after thrashing it around Hampton the gear lever only slopped back in forth between 5th and 6th however the box was stuck in 5th.

Made it hard to get home.......

what is that broken off piece? ....a part off the gear selector thingy?

any clue to the reason it snapped off?

Shale, there is no way you will break one with ~200hp. and putting one in a 200hp car will make it slower

Must be a fair bit of force on those selector forks to break that piece. Too much speed shifting eh?

Why the hell would I suggest that a 20E would have a sh!t show in hell of breaking a box rated to a kazillion times that? ??? I can't even break the current gearbox.

Its a bit that moves the shifter fork Im told..... and other than me thrashing the car to within inches of its life there is no reason it broke

Was there today Alex was calling up some fellas in Australia.

Never seen or heard of one thats broken there, was looking at it today, Perhaps invest in something billet.

Well the piece arrived, and the two synchros for 4th and 5th.

Discovered that the bearing that goes between third gear and the main shaft is stuffed to. Waiting for that ex Japan now....

I think I well and truly broke the box haha

I say good effort too and i say that piece that came off stuffed your bearing. Least you can get bits for it though.

Its a bit weird that the whole box was'nt inspected when it was stripped, that way parts could have been ordered in one hit.

Thats what I like to hear!! not driving it hard enough if your not breaking something!! cant imagine it would be a cheap fix...

How much did it cost you to get it fixed? I have a problem with the reverse where theres non :'(

mate rekons if parts are brocken the whole guts of it have to be replaced due to the internal gears and sociated parts being obsolet and no new part is compatible with old

I just hope nothing is brocken in mine but maybe something loosen off thats stop reverse being engaged ( definitely not the lenkages to the box tho)
